Description:

The Halonen Artist Family is from Lapinlahti in the Northern Savo area of Finland. The productive and multitalented country family managed the Linnansalmi farm for hundreds of years. There a generation was born that uniquely combined their inherited talents with a rising Finnish national cultural movement.

The ten or so Halonen family members born from the 1860’s to the 1890’s made painting, sculpting, art casting, handicrafts, music and theatre their life’s work. The Halonen Museum Foundation keeps the family’s legacy alive in Lapinlahti.
